The SketchUp Import plug-in adds two ways to get SKP files into your AutoCAD® drawings. Use the IMPORTSKP command to convert a SketchUp file, stored in a local or shared folder, and insert the model into the current drawing. The GETMODEL command allows you to browse or search the Trimble 3D Warehouse and download SketchUp models directly into your drawing. Unfortunately, there is an issue with importing newer SKP files with the SketchUp App.
SKP Import for AutoCAD is a SketchUp SKP file import plug-in for AutoCAD®. This plug-in gives AutoCAD the ability to import geometric data from SketchUp SKP files. SKP Import for AutoCAD reads polygon mesh data stored in SKP files and imports it into AutoCAD. A polygon mesh in a SKP file is comprised of a set of triangular or quad faces. SKP Import for AutoCAD recreates the SKP model data inside the active AutoCAD drawing.
